Agree the package before you start
Detailing disputes usually start with a vague scope. Send the package and price in writing first, and treat anything you find on the day (heavy stains, pet hair) as a separate add-on the customer approves before you do it.

Should I take a deposit for a detail?
For a standard package, getting paid when you finish is usually enough. For a multi-day paint correction or ceramic coating, a deposit covers your materials and the held slot.
How do I handle a tip?
Customers can pay the quoted amount by link and tip separately however they like. Keep the invoice for the agreed price so your records stay clean.
